Job summary

Driver Hire is seeking an experienced Technical Support Officer to join the Public Protection & Enforcement team to support a period of increased demand.

The role covers first-line customer contact, processing service requests, and providing technical and administrative support across licensing, enforcement, and regulatory services. You will maintain accurate records and assist with FOI responses and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering high-quality administrative support in a regulatory or licensing environment.
• Strong organisational and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with case management systems (UNIFORM) and record-keeping requirements.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for customer enquiries via phone, email, and in person.
• Coordinate and process service requests, ensuring accurate record keeping.
• Provide technical and administrative support across licensing, enforcement, and regulatory services.
• Process licence applications, consultations, fees, and associated correspondence.
• Maintain accurate records using UNIFORM and other case management systems.
• Support responses to complaints and Freedom of Information requests.
• Produce reports and administrative updates to support service delivery.
• Previous experience in a Local Authority regulatory, licensing, environmental health, or enforcement support role.
• Exceptional knowledge and experience of UNIFORM databases.
• Strong administrative, organisational, and customer service skills.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Minimum 5 years’ employment history.
