Job summary

Medtronic in the United Kingdom is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support customers across Manchester and the surrounding region. You will provide installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a diverse portfolio of medical technologies, with 50–70% travel within the territory.

You will partner with hospitals and Clinical Engineering teams to maximize equipment uptime, drive service contract opportunities, and deliver a high-quality customer experience while adhering to safety

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, Higher National Certificate (HNC), or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience in field service, technical support, or equipment maintenance in the medical device/healthcare sector.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic or electro-mechanical systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel 50-75% within the territory.
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems or service documentation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities for medical equipment within the assigned territory.
  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance visits to ensure equipment performance and compliance with service requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Clinical Engineering, EBME, and other key customer stakeholders.
  • Achieve service performance objectives, including customer satisfaction and operational service metrics.
  • Identify and support opportunities for service contract sales, renewals, and service revenue growth.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, maintenance records, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and improve customer service delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to operational procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.

The team delivers technical service, preventive maintenance, equipment repair, and customer support activities that help ensure healthcare providers can operate critical medical technologies safely and effectively.This field-based role supports customers across Manchester and the surrounding region. The position requires regular travel within the assigned territory, with approximately 50-70% travel, and is focused on delivering technical service excellence while supporting service contract growth and customer retention.As a Field Service Engineer, you will provide technical support, maintenance, and repair services for a diverse portfolio of medical technologies.
