Job summary

Adecco is seeking an experienced Sales Office Manager to lead the internal sales team in Witham, Essex. You will oversee quotations, order processing and customer account management, acting as the senior escalation point for queries while driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a sales office or internal sales leadership role within technical manufacturing, engineering, electronics or distribution.
• Experience managing or supervising a team.
• CRM systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong understanding of sales performance measures, quotations and order processing.
• Excellent organisational, communication and workload management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Commercially minded with focus on customer service.
• Confidence with technical product information, specs, part numbers and compliance documents.
• Experience in quality controlled or regulated manufacturing environments advantageous.
• Awareness of export controls, product traceability or relevant quality standards beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor and develop the Sales Administration team, including workload allocation, training and performance reviews.
• Oversee the quotation and order processing cycle with accuracy and timely responses.
• Review and cost technical enquiries with engineering and external sales teams for suitable quotations.
• Act as senior escalation point for customer queries, pricing discrepancies and delivery issues.
• Maintain and improve sales office procedures for consistency.
• Ensure CRM and ERP data accuracy, pipeline reporting and forecasting.
• Support pricing decisions and margin management with senior management.
• Liaise with procurement, engineering and logistics to meet customer commitments.
• Produce regular sales performance reports on quotations, orders and revenue.
• Support business development through key account management and new opportunities.
• Support customer audits and internal quality reviews as required.
• Recruit and onboard new Sales Coordinators as the team grows.
