Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Technical Sales Manager to support UK sales of standby power and power conversion solutions. You will lead technical pre-sales activities, prepare proposals, and coordinate orders in close collaboration with Sales and Operations.

The role demands an electrical background, strong communication, tender-writing ability, and a UK driving licence, with hybrid office in Berkshire and occasional travel across the UK and to Germany.

Qualifications

• A technical background in electrical systems is required (electrician or electrical engineer).
• Experience in pre-sales support, tendering and pricing.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and ability to coordinate orders.
• UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally.

Technical Sales Manager - Standby Power Systems (UK)

Berkshire| Hybrid 4 days office / 1 day home | UK territory + occasional travel (incl Germany)

We are hiring a Technical Sales Manager to support UK sales across standby power and power conversion solutions (AC/DC UPS, rectifiers, inverters, DC/DC converters, industrial battery chargers).

This is a technically-led commercial role covering pre-sales support, tendering/quoting, and order coordination, working closely with Sales/BD colleagues and operations.

Key focus

• Technical pre-sales support and solution selection
• Quotes, tenders, calculations and cost sheets
• Responses to technical/commercial tenders
• Supporting profitable hardware order intake

Travel

Very occasional travel in the UK and internationally, including Germany. The successful candidate will visit Germany during the recruitment process to understand the wider operation.

Ideal background

Qualified Electrician or Electrical Technician/Engineer (or equivalent), confident writing tenders/proposals, commercially aware, organised, strong communicator, UK driving licence.
