Overview

ZIV Automation produces products and solutions for Power Utilities internationally. Its products and solutions are primarily focused on renewable integration, smart grid applications, substation automation, and distribution automation, including Active Network Management solutions, Control solutions, RTUs, Protection, Metering, and Communications. ZIV is a market leader in the integration of renewable energy. It’s an innovative company with a reputation for delivering reliable products and solutions.

This sales role involves direct sales to Power Utilities and sales through contractors/integration partners in the UK and is predominantly office-based.

Reporting directly to the commercial lead for ZIV Automation UK, this role offers an excellent opportunity to develop both technical and commercial skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Sales of ZIV Automation products and solutions to Power Utilities and through contractors/system integrators in the UK/Ireland.
  • Selling the full ZIV product portfolio.
Key Activities:
  • Account Management, building and managing customer relationships, and positioning ZIV for new opportunities. The sales cycle typically lasts six months to a year.
  • Business Development.
  • Technical sales of existing and new products and solutions into the Power Utility market and other sectors within the UK/Ireland.
  • Promotion and presentations of ZIV’s products, solutions, and expertise.
  • Tendering of technical and commercial proposals.
  • Driving customer approvals and certifications required for new business.
  • Pre-qualification for opportunities.
  • Although based at the ZIV Gateshead office, regular travel within the UK will be required for pursuing opportunities and attending meetings.
  • Occasional travel to Europe may also be necessary.
Experience:
  • The candidate may be new to Sales but should have a strong technical background, typically over two years of industry experience.
  • Application engineering experience in control and automation projects.
  • Experience selling automation equipment and SCADA systems to Power Utilities.
  • Experience in areas such as Active Network Management, Smart Grid Solutions, SCADA, Protection, Substation Automation, Distribution Automation, Renewable Energy, or Communications.
  • The ability to work strategically and face-to-face with customers is desirable.
  • Electrical Engineering qualification.
  • Ability to identify and develop sales opportunities and market technical solutions and services.
  • Experience in producing technical and commercial proposals.
  • Proven ability to meet sales targets.

  • Enthusiastic and sales-oriented with a technical background; product and solution training will be provided.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to influence others.
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term business relationships.
