Technical Sales Engineer
- Annual Salary: 50,000 - 60,000 (+ Bonus) - Happy to consider most salary requirements

Our fantastic client is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to drive direct sales to Power Utilities and through contractors/integration partners in the UK. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop both technical and commercial skills while working under the direct supervision of the commercial lead.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Cultivate and strengthen customer relationships to strategically position the company for long-term business opportunities, typically involving sales cycles of six to twelve months.
- Lead business development initiatives and promote technical sales of their product offerings within the Power Utility sector and adjacent markets across the UK and Ireland.
- Deliver product demonstrations and presentations to highlight their forward-thinking solutions, capabilities, and industry expertise.
- Develop and submit comprehensive technical and commercial proposals in response to tender requirements.
- Coordinate the acquisition of customer approvals and certifications essential for securing new business engagements.
- Manage pre-qualification activities to ensure readiness for upcoming business opportunities.
- Travel regularly throughout the UK for client meetings and business development, with occasional trips to Europe as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong technical background with a minimum of two years' industry experience preferred, but not essential.
- Hands-on experience in application engineering, particularly within control and automation projects.
- Prior experience in sales to Power Utilities, especially involving automation systems is preferred, but not essential.
- Familiarity with key industry domains such as Active Network Management, Smart Grid Solutions, SCADA, Protection Systems, Substation and Distribution Automation, Renewable Energy, and Communication Networks.
- A qualification in Electrical Engineering is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, pursue, and convert sales opportunities, with a track record of marketing technical solutions and services effectively.
- Experience in preparing technical and commercial proposals and consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
