Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Technical Principal with expertise in civil and structural engineering for energy projects. You will lead design work on power plants, HV substations, and HVDC interconnectors, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and delivering FEED studies, drawings, and specifications.

Ideal candidates will have advanced structural knowledge, BIM proficiency, and project leadership experience, with a track record of managing complex projects in the energy sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Chartered in Structural/Civil engineering desirable.
• Experience in energy projects would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Project Management: lead and manage structural projects end-to-end.
• Project lead: take ownership of technical delivery and client liaison.
• Proposal Writing and Cost Estimation: develop compelling proposals with budgets.
• FEED: lead Front End Engineering Design activities for structural components.
• Preparation of drawings for planning applications and tender packages.
• Detailed Civil/Structural Design across power plants and HV projects.
• Design Coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
• Preparation of Specifications for procurement and construction.
• Condition and Structural Assessment of existing structures to determine reuse suitability.
