Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Technical Principal to join our Civil and Structural Team within the Energy unit. You will lead design on power generation, HV substation projects, and HV cable works, delivering FEED, drawings, and specifications while coordinating with other disciplines.

The role offers opportunities across a diverse portfolio with potential for advancement, hybrid working, and a focus on delivering energy transition projects globally from our UK offices.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of structural engineering principles including load-bearing capacity and design codes.
• Proficiency with SAP2000, ETABS or similar software.
• Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its application to projects.
• Project leadership: manage structural engineering projects, timelines, budgets, and quality.
• FEED: experience leading FEED activities for structural components.

Responsibilities

• Project management and project lead on civil/structural schemes.
• Proposal writing and cost estimation for tender packages.
• FEED coordination for structural components and interfaces.
• Detailed civil/structural design and drawings for planning and bids.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for design coordination and clash resolution.
• Prepare specifications and assess existing structures for reuse.
