Job summary

Niyaa People Ltd is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor/Technical Officer to lead a customer-focused repairs service. The role involves managing damp, mould and disrepair cases, on-site work in Tamworth, and ensuring quality outcomes across schemes.

The post requires conducting inspections, preparing work specifications, and monitoring contractor performance within statutory timelines. Six-month contract with on-site duties and travel across Tamworth area.

Qualifications

• Experience handling housing disrepair claims and related legal interfaces.
• Surveying experience in housing associations, private practice, or local authorities.
• Knowledge of damp, mould and disrepair issues and related regulations.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a proactive and motivated Building Surveyor to join a leading Property Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering an efficient, customer-focused repairs service across their schemes.

You will be based on site with frequent travel around Tamworth!

Technical Officer- Damp, Mould & Disrepair

Location: On site, Tamworth

6 month contract

35- 40 per hour via Umbrella

0.45p mileage from office to sites

Technical Officer duties:

• Take a lead role in service delivery.
• Manage complex damp, mould, and disrepair cases.
• Undertake inspections and prepare specifications of work.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with statutory timescales.
• Support service improvements and compliance reporting.
• Work proactively to reduce risk and improve customer outcomes.
• Demonstrable experience of managing housing disrepair claims and legal interfaces.

To succeed as the Technical Officer, you need:

• Experience of preparing technical evidence and witness statements would be advantageous.
• Experience of implementing or preparing for Awaab's Law preferred.
• Significant demonstrable experience in a surveying role in a housing association, private practice, local authority, or similar
