Job summary

MPL Claims Management in Colchester is seeking an experienced Team Leader to head our Technical Motor Claims team. You will drive performance, coach staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen relationships with brokers and insurers to deliver high-quality service.

You will oversee workload distribution, quality standards, and escalation handling, while championing continuous improvement and exceptional customer outcomes for our partners and clients.

Qualifications

• Experience in motor claims handling, including technical and complex claims.
• Strong leadership and people-management capabilities.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Allocate and manage workloads across the team in line with SLAs and KPIs.
• Lead, motivate and develop team members through coaching and performance reviews.
• Identify training needs and ensure regulatory and client requirements are met.
• Monitor performance and implement support plans to achieve objectives.
• Act as escalation point for complex technical claims and stakeholder inquiries.
• Build strong relationships with brokers, coverholders, insurers, and clients through effective communication.
• Provide timely updates to brokers and stakeholders on urgent matters and claims developments.
• Oversee team management activities including annual leave, sickness, probation reviews, and 1:1 meetings.
• Own departmental projects and process improvements to support growth and excellence.
• Promote continuous service improvement across delivery and customer outcomes.
