Job summary

The Bedford College Group is seeking a Technical Lecturer in Plumbing, Heating & Gas to join the Construction department at the Corby/Wellingborough campuses in Northamptonshire. The role focuses on delivering engaging theory and hands-on teaching, developing schemes of work and ensuring industry relevance.

Candidates should hold a Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing & Heating and a Level 3 Teaching Award, with English and Maths at Level 2, and be willing to pursue PGCE/Cert Ed where required.

Qualifications

• Holds a Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing and Heating and a Level 3 Teaching Award, with English and Maths Level 2 or equivalent.

• Brings current plumbing and heating industry experience and teaching capability.
• Able to plan and deliver across different subjects and learner levels.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and deliver engaging theory and practical teaching across Plumbing, Heating, Energy Sources and Renewable Technologies.
• Monitor attendance, progress and behaviour, provide interventions and pastoral support.
• Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and resources; assess and provide feedback.
• Ensure learning reflects industry practices and contribute to curriculum development and work experience.
• Maintain safe and inclusive environments and promote safeguarding and health and safety.
