RES is seeking a Field Based Technical Sales Engineer to survey sites, design heat pump systems, and oversee MCS-compliant installations across the East of England. The role requires strong technical insight, customer-focused collaboration with installers, and reliable handover of projects.

You will travel to sites, deliver quotations, and provide remote support while coordinating with the sales team. A background in heat pump design and compliance is essential.

Qualifikationen

• Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Plumbing & Heating.
• LCL/BPEC Heat Pump Design & Installation.
• G3 Unvented Hot Water, WRAS, and MCS standards knowledge.
• Proven experience in low-temperature hydraulic design and electrical fault-finding.
• Consultative mindset to translate technical data for non-technical customers.
• Based in/around East London or Ipswich with willingness to travel.

Aufgaben

• Conduct technical site surveys, agree system specifications with installers/homeowners, produce on-site quotations, commission Air Source Heat Pump systems, complete handovers, and resolve issues via remedial visits.
• Produce room-by-room heat loss calculations, system designs and performance assessments using design tools; compile technical proposals and quotations; maintain CRM records.
• Act as Nominated Technical Supervisor for regional MCS projects, ensuring subcontracted installations meet MCS standards & Building Regulations.
• Provide phone-based and remote technical support; maintain relationships with installers; serve as a consistent technical contact.

As a Field Based Technical Sales Engineer you’ll be responsible for:

• Conducting technical site surveys, agreeing system specifications with installers and homeowners, producing on-site quotations, commissioning Air Source Heat Pump systems, completing system handovers, and resolving technical issues through remedial visits.

• Produce room-by-room heat loss calculations, system designs and performance assessments using company design tools and established processes, with full training and technical support provided. Compile technical proposals and quotations for the sales team, ensuring accurate project records are maintained within the CRM system.

• Acting as the Nominated Technical Supervisor for all regional MCS projects, ensuring every subcontracted installation adheres to MCS standards and Building Regulations.

• Providing phone-based and remote technical support, maintaining strong working relationships with assigned installers, and acting as a consistent technical point of contact.

This is a full-time, permanent, field based role working 42.5 hours per week Monday to Friday between 8am - 5pm.

• Plumbing & Heating: Level 3 NVQ or equivalent.

• Heat Pumps: LCL/BPEC Heat Pump Design & Installation.

• Compliance: G3 Unvented Hot Water, WRAS, and a comprehensive knowledge of MCS standards.

• Technical Expertise: Proven experience in low-temperature hydraulic design and electrical fault-finding.

• Soft Skills: A "consultative" mindset with the ability to translate technical data into actionable insights for non-technical customers.

• Logistics: Based in/around East London or Ipswich, with a willingness to travel and occasional overnight stays.
