Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Technical Director – Mechanical Engineer to lead technical excellence in the UK water sector. The role includes strategic leadership across water/wastewater projects, governance, and strong client engagement to drive growth and assurance for complex multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Engineer with extensive experience in water infrastructure, capable of shaping AMP8 strategy and mentoring senior engineers across multiple offices in the UK.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer status (IMechE) or equivalent.
• Extensive design and delivery experience in water/wastewater infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical leadership across water and wastewater programmes.
• Lead technical governance and assurance for multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop client relationships and identify growth opportunities.
• Support business development and market growth within AMP8 and beyond.
