Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an experienced Technical Director to lead its technical strategy for a well-established industry federation. Reporting to the CEO, this senior role requires technical credibility, commercial awareness and strategic vision.

The position is based in Staffordshire, five days a week, with a car-access requirement due to limited public transport. The role includes leading a technical team, engaging with regulators and standards bodies, monitoring legislation, and

Qualifications

• Experience leading a technical team and setting strategic direction.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at senior levels.
• Strong understanding of the business impact of technical and regulatory changes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Technical Team and provide guidance.
• Represent the organisation with government, regulators, BSI, standards committees and industry bodies.
• Monitor emerging legislation and standards and assess their impact on members.
• Develop practical guidance, publications, webinars, training and technical initiatives.
• Provide authoritative advice on compliance, standards, product safety and best practice.
• Identify opportunities to improve member services and develop technically valuable products.
• Build a strong technical team that advises members, the public and government bodies.
• Build relationships across government, industry and memberships.
• Drive continuous improvement and maintain industry authority.
