Job summary

Macphie UK is seeking a Technical Baker to join our Food Applications team in Glenbervie. This hands-on role focuses on becoming the bakery subject matter expert, running trials, shaping new products, and solving bakery challenges for customers.

The role involves close collaboration with Product Design, Food Applications and Commercial teams, and may offer relocation support for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on bakery experience in commercial, development, or craft settings.
• Strong knowledge of bakery ingredients, formulations and manufacturing processes.
• Experience supporting bakery development, trials or technical bakery projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead practical bakery trials to validate new products, concepts and formulations.
• Advise on bakery ingredients, their functionality and formulation impact on finished products.
• Test and challenge products to ensure quality, consistency and performance.
• Troubleshoot bakery formulations and manufacturing challenges with practical solutions.
• Support customer projects, demonstrations and technical discussions.
