Job summary

Etex in Bristol, United Kingdom, is hiring a Technical Advisor. This hybrid role combines office-based days (Tuesday to Thursday) with training and development, core hours 8:30–17:00, Monday to Friday.

You’ll answer technical questions, produce CAD drawings, review packs, and collaborate across the business to grow product know-how and fire-related performance. The position favours candidates with CAD experience, strong English, and an engineering background in construction or mechanical fields.

Join our technical team in Bristol, where you'll build your skills through hands-on training, job shadowing and e-learning, with strong support for your development along the way. This is a hybrid role, working from the office Tuesday to Thursday, with core hours of 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, and no travel required outside of training. The team is currently in a strong technical position, offering plenty of scope to grow.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Bring

• CAD experience.
• Good computer literacy.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and plan well.
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• A keen willingness to learn.
• Clear communicator in English, with the ability to translate technical detail into plain language.
• A construction, civil or mechanical engineering background is desirable.
• Drylining experience, i.e. familiarity with metal framing components, is desirable.
• Product design or design work experience is desirable.
• A background in fire stopping or passive fire protection is desirable.
• An analytical, practical approach is desirable.
• Experience in an administrative, office, customer service or site-based role with some technical knowledge of construction materials is desirable.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings is desirable.
