Job summary

Charles Hunter Associates is recruiting for an Independent Fostering Agency to appoint a Fostering Team Manager covering North Yorkshire/County Durham. This is a permanent, full-time role with hybrid working.

You will lead and develop a team of fostering social workers, ensure safeguarding of children, and drive service quality. A social work degree is required with post-qualification fostering experience; salary up to £58,000 dependent on experience.

Qualifications

Lead, supervise, and support fostering social workers and staff.
Ensure the safety, welfare, and safeguarding of children in foster care.
Oversee the recruitment, assessment, approval, and retention of foster carers. Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to foster carers.
Manage complex fostering placement decisions.
Ensure compliance with fostering regulations, legislation, and policies.
Monitor service quality, performance, and outcomes for children. Conduct audits, reviews, and implement service improvements.
Work collaboratively with local authorities and partner agencies.
Manage team workloads, performance, and professional development.
Support strategic planning and the development of fostering services.
