Job summary

Charles Hunter Associates in the North East is supporting an Independent Fostering Agency to recruit a Fostering Team Manager. The role is permanent, full-time and hybrid, with a salary up to £55,000 depending on experience and mileage paid plus a car allowance.

You will lead and support fostering social workers, ensure the safety and welfare of children, and oversee recruitment, assessment, and ongoing support for foster carers. A social work degree and UK work rights are required.

Qualifications

• Social work degree or diploma required.
• Post-qualification experience in fostering preferred.
• Eligibility to work in the UK; no Visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and support fostering social workers and staff.
• Ensure safety, welfare, and safeguarding of children in foster care.
• Oversee recruitment, assessment, approval, and retention of foster carers.
• Provide training and ongoing support to foster carers.
• Manage complex fostering cases and placement decisions.
• Ensure compliance with fostering regulations and policies.
• Monitor service quality and outcomes; conduct audits and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with local authorities and partner agencies.
• Manage team workloads, performance, and professional development.
• Contribute to budget planning and resource management.
• Support strategic planning and development of fostering services.
