Job summary

Charles Hunter Associates is partnering with an Independent Fostering Agency to recruit a Fostering Team Manager for the North East Region. The role is permanent, full-time, and hybrid, offering an impactful leadership position within a therapeutic fostering service.

You will lead social workers, ensure safeguarding, oversee carer recruitment and training, and collaborate with local authorities to drive service improvements while managing budgets and workloads.

Qualifications

  • Social Work degree required.
  • Right to work in the UK; no visa sponsorship available.
  • Post-qualification experience in fostering.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and support fostering social workers and staff.
  • Ensure the safety, welfare, and safeguarding of children in foster care.
  • Oversee recruitment, assessment, approval, and retention of foster carers; provide training and ongoing support.
  • Manage complex fostering cases and placement decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with fostering regulations, legislation, and policies.
  • Monitor service quality, performance, and outcomes; conduct audits and improvements.
  • Collaborate with local authorities and partner agencies.
  • Manage team workloads, performance, and professional development.
  • Contribute to budget management and resource planning.
  • Support strategic planning and development of fostering services.

Job description

An Independent Fostering Agency is looking for a Fostering Team Manager for their fostering service that covers North East Region. This is a permanent and full-time position that is hybrid working.

You must have a Diploma/Degree in Social Work and have the right to work in the UK (no VISA sponsorship available)
