Job summary

Carlisle Mencap is seeking a Team Leader - Supported Living to provide day-to-day supervision of the support workers, modelling values and ensuring a person-centred approach for adults with learning disabilities in our service.

You will develop individual plans, manage rotas, support families, and work with health and social care professionals to deliver high-quality care while maintaining records and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills are essential.
• Ability to work cooperatively with other professionals.
• Ability to keep accurate records.
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to effectively deal with conflict.
• Understanding of alternative communication strategies – Makaton/PECS is desirable.
• Advocacy skills are advantageous.
• Full driving license and access to a car is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the support worker team to deliver person-centred services.
• Ensure accurate recording, reporting and evidence of progress against outcomes.
• Develop personalised support plans and risk assessments.
• Manage rotas and allocate shifts to ensure safe staffing.
• Work with families, carers and external professionals.
• Attend reviews and multi-disciplinary meetings.
• Support recruitment and induction of new staff.
• Deliver safeguarding and quality assurance in line with policies.
