Job summary

Carlisle Mencap is seeking a Team Leader to provide leadership and day-to-day supervision for the support worker team. The role focuses on a person-centred approach, empowering adults with learning disabilities to make decisions and improve their quality of life.

You will collaborate with families, carers, and external professionals, maintain accurate records, and ensure safe, compliant care while supporting staff development and effective service delivery.

Qualifications

• Willingness to engage in training and work towards relevant qualifications.
• Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities or Autism is preferred.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and day-to-day supervision within the support worker team.
• Ensure service plans reflect individuals needs and enable choice.
• Advocate for service users and monitor progress against outcomes.
• Develop relationships with families and carers.
• Maintain thorough records and participate in reviews and meetings.
• Oversee medication administration per policy and ensure staff training.
• Organise rotas with the Service Manager and support recruitment when required.
