Job summary

Carlisle Mencap is seeking a Team Leader to provide leadership and day-to-day supervision for the support worker team. You will advocate for service users, coordinate with health and social care professionals, and ensure plans reflect each person’s needs and wishes.

You will lead staff development, supervise medication administration, and monitor records and outcomes while promoting independence and a person-centred approach.

Qualifications

• Awareness of Person-Centred Planning principles.
• Experience supervising staff.
• Ability to lead a team and manage in varied situations.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and overnights.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and day-to-day supervision within your support worker team.
• Ensure service reflects individuals' needs and wishes.
• Support decision making and promote independence.
• Advocate for service users and coordinate with health and social care professionals.
• Take the lead on recruitment and staff development.
• Organise rotas with the Service Manager to ensure safe shift coverage.
• Maintain thorough records and evidence progress against outcomes.
• Deliver personalised support plans aligned with Positive Behaviour Support.
