Job summary

CareTech Community Services Ltd is seeking a proactive Team Leader for our Oakwood Flats service in Sheffield. You will deliver person-centred support, supervise staff, and ensure daily living skills, independence, and safety for adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs.

The role is permanent, full-time, 37.5 hours per week on a rota that includes evenings, weekends and sleep-ins. Experience in supported living and a senior/team leader position is preferred; enhanced

• At least 2 years experience in a Supported Living or Residential Care Environment.
• At least a year in a Senior or Team leader position within care.
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis.
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by employer)

About the Service – Oakwood Flats

Oakwood Flats is a registered residential care service supporting adults aged 18+ in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. The service promotes independence, choice, and wellbeing through tailored, person-centred support.

Service User Interests

The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including:

• Arts and crafts
• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
• Holidays and short breaks
• Walks in the local park and community
• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

You will:

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing
• Support activities, appointments, and community access
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team
• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.

No previous experience? No problem! If you have the passion, we’ll provide full training and a structured induction programme.

Requirements
