Job summary

CareTech is seeking a Team Leader to oversee daily operations at Hanley DCA, a supported living service in Stoke-on-Trent. You will lead staff, ensure person-centred care, and support tenants to achieve chosen outcomes.

The role requires rota coverage including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins, with a focus on safeguarding and staff development. A health and social qualification is encouraged, with DBS required and potential for progression within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans
  • Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required
  • Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing
  • Support activities, appointments, and community access
  • Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team
  • Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins
  • To supervise the day to day delivery of care, to ensure the identified needs of the people we support are met
  • To be responsible for the care, welfare and safety of the our tenants
  • To oversee the safeguarding of the people we support and make referrals where appropriate
  • To oversee the professional development and personal well-being of our staff team
  • Coordinate the service and participate in reviews, assessment and reassessment of needs, and develop person centred support plans to ensure they are up to date and in line with individual’s needs
  • To participate when required in the recruitment of staff within an equal opportunities framework
  • Undertake regular supervisions with staff
  • Act as a skills coach for staff and chair regular team meetings
  • To attend training and development sessions
  • To ensure that the requirements of legislation, care standards and the company policies and procedures are followed
  • Complete weekly KPI’s, oversee the service development plan, and plan and oversee training
  • Attend reviews with social care and feedback.

Team Leader

Location: Stoke on Trent, Hanley
Rate: £13.79 per hour

Permanent | Full time Contract | 37.5 hours per week

About the Service – Hanley DCA

Hanley DCA is a supported living service which provides care and support for people with learning disabilities and/or autistic spectrum disorder who enjoy a wide range of hobbies from Bowling and Swimming to Dance and Music.,

Service User Interests

The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
  • Holidays and short breaks
  • Walks in the local park and community
  • Cooking and baking to develop life skills
The Role

We are looking for a Team Leader to work within our growing Supported living team. The Team Leader will oversee the day to day of the scheme –act as a role model to staff so that they are encouraged to understand the people you we are supporting; and take pride in providing the practical and emotional care that enables the supported individual to lead a good quality of life in line with what they choose and can achieve. You will also be expected to support the Registered Manager and Service Manager in their absence.

You will:
