Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd is seeking a Team Leader for a permanent, full-time role in Stoke on Trent/ Hanley. You will oversee day-to-day operations, lead the care team, and ensure high-quality, person-centred support for residents living in a supported living service.

You will supervise staff, participate in reviews, and coordinate care plans while ensuring safeguarding and adherence to policy. Excellent communication and flexibility are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience leading care teams in a supported living or similar setting.
• Ability to supervise staff and promote person-centred care.
• Strong communication, written and IT basics.
• Willingness to work unsocial hours as part of rota.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the scheme and act as role model for staff.
• Support Registered Manager in their absence.
• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual plans.
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required.
• Promote independence, dignity and wellbeing of tenants.
• Coordinate activities, appointments and community access.
• Maintain accurate records and work as part of a team.
• Supervise day-to-day care delivery and staff wellbeing.
• Oversee safeguarding and staff development.
• Participate in recruitment within equal opportunities framework.
• Attend training and development sessions.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and care standards.

Team Leader Location: Stoke on Trent, Hanley Rate: £13.79 per hour Permanent | Full time Contract |

About the Service

• Hanley DCA Hanley DCA is a supported living service which provides care and support for people with learning disabilities and/or autistic spectrum disorder who enjoy a wide range of hobbies from Bowling and Swimming to Dance and Music., Service User Interests The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including: Arts and crafts Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.

The Role

The Team Leader will oversee the day to day of the scheme –act as a role model to staff so that they are encouraged to understand the people you we are supporting; and take pride in providing the practical and emotional care that enables the supported individual to lead a good quality of life in line with what they choose and can achieve.

You will also be expected to support the Registered Manager and Service Manager in their absence.

You will

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing
• Support activities, appointments, and community access
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team
• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins
• To supervise the day to day delivery of care, to ensure the identified needs of the people we support are met
• To be responsible for the care, welfare and safety of the our tenants
• To oversee the safeguarding of the people we support and make referrals where appropriate
• To oversee the professional development and personal well-being of our staff team
• Coordinate the service and participate in reviews, assessment and reassessment of needs, and develop person centred support plans to ensure they are up to date and in line with individual’s needs
• To participate when required in the recruitment of staff within an equal opportunities framework
• Undertake regular supervisions with staff
• Act as a skills coach for staff and chair regular team meetings
• To attend training and development sessions
• To ensure that the requirements of legislation, care standards and the company policies and procedures are followed
• Complete weekly KPI’s, oversee the service development plan, and plan and oversee training
• Attend reviews with social care and feedback.

You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.
