PIB Insurance Brokers | Part of PIB Group in Gloucester is seeking a Team Leader to guide a client-facing insurance team and deliver high-quality, compliant service to commercial clients.

You will coach and develop team members, manage workload, and drive improvements to sales processes while ensuring performance targets and regulatory standards are met.

Experience in commercial insurance and familiarity with Acturis are desirable; strong communication and leadership are essential for success.

The Team Leader is responsible for leading and developing a team of client-facing insurance professionals, driving performance and fostering a collaborative, high-achieving culture. Combining hands-on client work with people leadership, you will lead by example to deliver a high-quality, compliant and efficient service to commercial clients.

You will take ownership of guiding, motivating and coaching the team, supporting their development and helping them achieve individual and team goals. You will be accountable for supporting new business, income and retention targets, ensuring client needs are met and maintaining high service standards.

You will oversee day-to-day workflow and team operations, provide technical and operational guidance, and step in to manage team functions when required. You will also identify and implement improvements to sales processes, driving standards and contributing to a compliant and profitable business. All activity must align with regulatory requirements and company standards.

What you'll be doing:

• Take a proactive leadership role in ensuring high standards of client service, with a focus on consistently meeting and exceeding client expectations.
• Leads initiatives to improve sales processes and operational efficiency, contributing to better client outcomes and internal workflow.
• Act as liaison across departments, helping resolve issues and improve communication and collaboration between teams.
• Provide technical guidance on commercial insurance products.
• Oversee allocation and prioritisation of workload to meet service standards and deadlines.
• Support the delivery of income, retention and growth targets for the team.
• Identify opportunities for cross-sell, up-sell and organic growth within the existing client base.
• Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews and development conversations.
• Coach team members to develop their skill set (technical, customer service, sales, soft skills et).
• Identify skills gaps; collaborate with department trainer to create and monitor training and development plans.
• Manage absence, performance and conduct issues in line with HR policies.
• Promote a positive, inclusive, customer-focused team culture.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience within Commercial Insurance.
• Knowledge of FSA requirements and standards.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Previous experience within a team leader capacity (Desirable).
• Ability to coach and mentor and lead by example.
• Knowledge of Acturis platform (Desirable).
• Knowledge of Insurer Extranet Platforms (Desirable).
