Hours of Work – Monday to Friday, starting at 7am

We have a rare opportunity to join our team as a Distribution Team Leader at our Regional Distribution Centre in Crawley.

Reporting to the Regional Distribution Centre Manager, the Team Leader will assist in the daily operational management of drivers.

Your responsibilities as a Distribution Team Leader include:

• Supporting the RDC Manager in managing a team of Delivery Drivers, including providing relief cover for holidays, sickness, and training.
• Loading and unloading trucks to deliver orders, which may include furniture or General Office Products, ensuring high customer service standards.
• Assisting in unloading/breakdown of pallets and sorting goods into route order as needed.
• Conducting random vehicle checks to ensure correct loading.
• Performing weekly vehicle inspections for damage, wear, and tear, and reporting faults or incidents promptly.
• Participating in recruiting new staff members.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Basic knowledge of Highway Code and regulations related to delivery vehicle operation.
• Basic understanding of tachographs and EU regulations concerning the Working Time Directive.
• Strong supervisory and communication skills.
• Ability to plan, schedule, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, as regular contact with customers is involved.
