Job summary

Waythrough is seeking a Team Leader for Cumbria to manage a multi-agency, multidisciplinary team delivering flexible, accessible mental health and social support services from Stocklund House, Carlisle.

You will supervise day-to-day operations, support pathway development, lead recruitment, induction, training, and performance management, and deputise for the Service/Area Manager when needed.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent, or willingness to work towards this in post.
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Experience of working towards targets and KPIs.
• Understanding the needs of a range of service users.
• Ability to coach and support colleagues to develop practice.
• Ability to collate information and prepare reports against targets.
• Commitment to equality, diversity and anti-discriminatory practice.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office/Outlook.
• Substance misuse experience may be beneficial with related qualifications.
• Experience managing staff performance desirable.

About the role

As a Team Leader, you will manage, supervise and oversee a multi-agency and multidisciplinary team, helping to ensure we provide a flexible and accessible service to people accessing our support. You will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of designated areas of the service, supporting the development of effective pathways and ways of working and ensuring the relevant service models are embedded in practice. A key part of the role will be supporting your team to succeed. You will manage, mentor and coach colleagues, as well as contributing to recruitment, induction, training, supervision, performance management and development. You will also monitor service and individual targets to help ensure we continue to meet our objectives and deliver a high-quality service. You will work closely with a range of partner agencies, including Social Services, Jobcentre Plus, Housing, Probation and other treatment providers, building effective relationships to ensure people receive the right support. You may also hold a small caseload when required and will deputise for the Service/Area Manager when needed, providing additional leadership and service cover.

About you

• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, or above/equivalent, or a willingness to work towards this in post.
• A full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Experience of working towards individual and team objectives, targets and KPIs.
• An understanding of the needs of a range of service users.
• The ability to coach and support colleagues to develop their practice and improve frontline delivery.
• The ability to collate information and prepare reports against performance targets.
• A commitment to equality, diversity and anti-discriminatory practice.
• Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office/Outlook.
• Experience of substance misuse would be beneficial, as would a relevant professional qualification such as addiction studies, counselling, social work or a therapeutic qualification.
• Experience of managing staff performance, including formal disciplinary and grievance procedures, would also be desirable.
