About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Team Manager to join Calderdale Recovery Steps, our Adult Drug and Alcohol Service in Halifax. You’ll lead, supervise and support a multidisciplinary team delivering a flexible and accessible service to people accessing drug and alcohol treatment and recovery support. You’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of designated areas of the service, ensuring colleagues are supported to deliver high-quality, person-centred support while meeting service standards, contractual requirements and performance targets. People management will be a key part of the role. You’ll coach and develop colleagues, provide regular supervision, manage performance and absence, support recruitment and induction, and create an environment where your team can perform at their best.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the day-to-day delivery of designated areas of Calderdale Recovery Steps.
  • Manage, supervise, coach and develop staff and volunteers, including recruitment, induction, training, supervision and performance reviews.
  • Monitor individual and service performance against agreed objectives, contractual targets and KPIs.
  • Develop effective pathways and build strong working relationships with partner organisations and community services.
  • Support the development, monitoring and evaluation of the service, ensuring relevant models and procedures are embedded effectively.
  • Ensure safeguarding concerns, incidents, complaints and other risks are managed appropriately and in line with organisational procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to timely reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Hold a small caseload where required to support service delivery.
  • Deputise for the Service Manager when required and provide management cover across the service.
To Succeed in This Role, You’ll Need
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards this in post.
  • Experience of working towards and achieving individual and team objectives, targets and KPIs.
  • The ability to lead, motivate, coach and develop others to strengthen frontline practice and service delivery.
  • An understanding of the needs of people accessing support services.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to collate information, monitor performance and produce accurate reports.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office programmes.
  • A strong commitment to equality, inclusion and anti-discriminatory practice.
  • Experience of managing staff performance, including formal disciplinary and grievance procedures, would be advantageous.

If you’re passionate about leading and developing people, delivering excellent services and helping individuals achieve positive change, we’d love to hear from you.

Interviews will be held on a rolling basis as suitable candidates apply, and we reserve the right to close the vacancy early if a successful candidate is appointed.
