Job summary

Waythrough is seeking a Team Leader for its supported housing service at The Belmont, Clevedon (near Weston-super-Mare). You will oversee day‑to‑day operations, lead staff and volunteers, manage referrals, and ensure safe, recovery‑focused support aligned with policies and contracts.

You will develop pathways, monitor performance, and collaborate with Social Services, Housing, Jobcentre and health services, deputising for the Area Manager as required. A full UK driving licence is essential.

About the role

This is a service management and team leadership role within Waythroughs supported housing services. You would oversee services supporting adults experiencing mental ill health, helping them maintain their accommodation, develop independence and ultimately move on to independent living. You would be responsible for the day-to-day running and development of the service, ensuring it delivers safe, effective and recovery-focused support in line with Waythroughs policies, service models and contractual requirements.

What youll do
  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day running of the service.
  • Lead, supervise, mentor and support a team of staff and volunteers.
  • Manage recruitment, induction, training, performance reviews, supervision and absence.
  • Manage referrals and make sure people meet the service eligibility criteria.
  • Develop support pathways and structured programmes to help people maintain their tenancies.
  • Monitor staff performance, service targets and contractual requirements.
  • Work closely with external agencies including Social Services, Housing, Jobcentre, Probation and mental health services.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports and service documentation.
  • Manage safeguarding concerns, complaints, incidents, health and safety and other risks.
  • Provide a small caseload when required to support service delivery.
  • Promote partnership working and opportunities for people using the service to have their voices heard.
  • Deputise for the Area Manager when required.
  • Ensure the service follows relevant legislation, policies and clinical governance requirements.

In simple terms: this is essentially a team leader/service manager role where youre responsible for making sure the supported housing service runs effectively, the staff are supported and managed, and the people using the service receive the right support to move towards independent living.
