Job summary

Nields Academy in Worston is seeking a Teaching Assistant with some SEN responsibility to join our KS2 team. You will work under the instruction and guidance of teaching staff, supporting learning and managing pupils in the classroom or outdoors for individuals or small groups.

You should have a good understanding of Maths and English at Year 5/6 level and a willingness to support pupils with EHCPs. The role is fixed-term until 31 August 2027 with term-time hours.

Salary: Grade 5, Scale Points 5-6, £19,273 - £19,579 (FTE: £25,583 - £25,989)

We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant for KS2 with some SEN responsibility. You will work under the instruction and guidance of teaching/senior staff, undertaking work/care/support programmes, to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the Teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area with individuals or small groups. You will need to have a good understanding of Maths and English taught at a Year 5 and 6 level.

You may be asked to support children who have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP). Your role will be vital in helping to implement the provisions and strategies required to enable these children to achieve important life outcomes, which may include assisting with intimate care needs.
