Are you an experienced Care Worker, Support Worker or Healthcare Assistant looking to transfer your skills into an education setting?
Protocol Education is currently recruiting Teaching Assistants in Swindon for opportunities supporting pupils with additional and complex needs. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in personal care, feeding, medication support and hands‑on care.
You will support pupils with their learning, personal development and day‑to‑day needs within a supportive school environment.
Responsibilities may include:
Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
Support pupils with personal care and daily routines.
Assist with feeding and mealtimes where required.
Provide medication support in line with school policies and training.
Support pupils with complex and additional needs.
Promote communication, confidence and independence.
Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
Assist with classroom activities and learning.
Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and support staff.
Maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive environment.

Previous experience in a care or support environment.
Experience with personal care, feeding and/or medication support is highly desirable.
Experience supporting individuals with additional or complex needs is advantageous.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, professional and resilient.
Willingness to complete relevant training required by the setting.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable but not essential.
