Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in Swindon and surrounding areas. This role covers 1:1 and small-group support across primary, secondary and specialist SEND settings, with immediate starts and ongoing opportunities.

The ideal candidate will be patient, resilient and collaborative, with UK experience and a willingness to engage in safeguarding training. Competitive PAYE rates and free CPD are on offer.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months' UK experience as SEND TA or similar.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND including autism, ADHD, SEMH, MLD.
  • Patient, compassionate and resilient approach.
  • Reliable, professional and committed to pupil development.
  • Enhanced DBS on Update Service desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.

Full-Time, Part-Time & Flexible | Swindon & Surrounding Areas | Immediate Start & Ongoing

Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs?

Protocol Education is working with a range of primary, secondary and specialist SEND schools across Swindon, offering flexible, long-term and full-time opportunities with immediate starts available.

We are looking for caring, patient and resilient SEND Teaching Assistants who can provide high-quality support and help pupils develop their confidence, independence and learning.

The Role
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
  • Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, communication and interaction needs and other SEND.
  • Help pupils access the curriculum and participate in learning activities.
  • Implement individual learning, behaviour and support strategies.
  • Support pupils' social, emotional and communication development.
  • Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
  • Assist teachers with classroom activities and preparation of resources.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and wider support staff.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum 6 months' relevant UK experience as a SEND TA, SEN TA, Teaching Assistant, LSA or similar.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of individual learning and behavioural needs.
  • Patient, compassionate and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt support to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Reliable, professional and committed to pupil development.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable but not essential.
