Job summary

Protocol Education Limited is seeking Teaching Assistants in Swindon to support pupils with additional and complex needs. Roles involve 1:1 and group support, personal care, feeding and medication assistance, and working with teachers and therapists.

Ideal candidates have care or support backgrounds and are ready for immediate, ongoing opportunities across Swindon. This is a full-time or supply role with competitive PAYE pay and access to training.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a care or support environment.
• Experience with personal care, feeding and/or medication support desirable.
• Experience supporting individuals with additional or complex needs is advantageous.
• Caring, patient and compassionate approach.
• Comfortable supporting personal and intimate care needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Support pupils with personal care and daily routines.
• Assist with feeding and mealtimes where required.
• Provide medication support in line with school policies and training.
• Support pupils with complex and additional needs.
• Promote communication, confidence and independence.
• Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Assist with classroom activities and learning.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and support staff.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive environment.
