Job summary

Empowering Learning are working with a Primary and Secondary Special Needs School in Leeds seeking Teaching Assistants to start in September. These roles are temp to perm, paying £100-£110 per day, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm, onsite.

You will support in classrooms on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, assisting children with autism and challenging behaviours, and helping with daily tasks to foster inclusive learning.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children, including those with special needs.
  • Knowledge of special education practices.
  • Strong communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Patience, empathy and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and behaviours.
  • Experience with toddler care is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist lead teacher with educational programs and activities.
  • Support students with special needs, including those with autism.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist in daily tasks, such as personal care and hygiene.
  • Support students in academic and social development.
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement IEPs for students.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour management strategies.

Job description

Empowering Learning are working with a Primary and Secondary Special Needs School in Leeds who are seeking Teaching Assistants to support in their classrooms on a 1:1 basis or within small groups. These roles are to start September and are temp to perm.

Pay: 100- 110 a day Monday to Friday school hours 8.30 - 3.30pm

The school caters for Primary and Secondary pupils supporting Children with Autism and Challenging Behaviours and communication needs.

You will be involved in classroom duties and off-site recreational activities.

Duties
  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing educational programs and activities for students.
  • Provide support to students with special needs, including those with autism.
  • Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help students with daily tasks, such as personal care and hygiene.
  • Support students in their academic and social development.
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour management strategies.
