Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd in Swindon is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of needs across primary, secondary and specialist SEND settings. Roles are available on a full-time, part-time or flexible basis, with immediate starts and ongoing opportunities across Swindon and surrounding areas.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, help pupils access the curriculum, and work closely with teachers to create a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' relevant UK experience in education or support roles.
• Experience as SEN TA / Teaching Assistant / LSA or similar.
• SEN experience is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting Autism, ADHD or complex needs is advantageous.
• Patient, compassionate and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
• Help pupils access the curriculum and classroom activities.
• Support communication, social and emotional development.
• Follow individual learning and behaviour support strategies.
• Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Assist teachers with classroom activities and resources.
• Work closely with teachers and wider support teams.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
