Job summary

Pathway Academy Zone in Corby is seeking a confident Teaching Assistant to support learners in our Alternative Provision. You will work with 1:1 and small groups, alongside teaching and pastoral staff, to help learners engage with education and overcome barriers to learning.

Suitable candidates will have SEND/SEMH experience, be patient and resilient, and may hold a TA or youth-work qualification; practical experience is valued.

Responsibilities

  • 1:1 support for learners and small groups
  • Assist tutors during lessons and activities
  • Help learners stay engaged, focused and motivated
  • Support learners with SEND, SEMH or behavioural needs
  • Encourage positive behaviour and establish boundaries
  • Support learners to develop confidence and independence
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and a positive learning environment
  • Monitor learner progress and escalate concerns when needed
  • Build strong professional relationships with learners and colleagues
