Job summary

Pathway Academy Zone in Corby is seeking a dedicated 0 hour Tutor to support young people in our Alternative Provision. You will plan and deliver high-quality lessons, working with individuals and small groups to meet diverse needs while maintaining clear expectations and professional boundaries.

You will support learners with SEND/SEMH and behavioural needs, re-engage disengaged learners, and contribute to learner plans.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with SEND/SEMH and behavioural needs.
• Ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons to individuals and small groups.
• Maintain accurate learner records and progress documentation.
• Able to engage hard-to-reach learners and re-engage with mainstream education.
• Commitment to safeguarding and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across alternative provision.
• Deliver learning to individuals and small groups, adapting approaches to learner needs.
• Support learners with SEND/SEMH and behaviour requirements.
• Re-engage learners who have disengaged from mainstream education.
• Set clear expectations around behaviour, attendance and participation.
• Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate learner records and progression documentation.
• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants, pastoral staff and management.
• Contribute to individual learner plans and intervention strategies.
• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and a positive learning environment.

Pathway Academy Zone is looking for an engaging, resilient and experienced 0 hour Tutor to support young people within our Alternative Provision in Corby.

Our learners may have experienced barriers within mainstream education and require a more personalised, practical and supportive approach to learning.

We are looking for someone who can build strong relationships with young people while maintaining clear expectations, structure and professional boundaries.

The Role

• Planning and delivering high-quality lessons
• Delivering learning to individuals and small groups
• Adapting teaching approaches to meet individual learner needs
• Supporting learners with SEND, SEMH and behavioural needs
• Re-engaging young people who may have become disengaged from mainstream education
• Setting clear expectations around behaviour, attendance and participation
• Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback
• Maintaining accurate learner records and progress documentation
• Working closely with Teaching Assistants, pastoral staff and management
• Contributing to individual learner plans and intervention strategies
• Promoting safeguarding, wellbeing and a positive learning environment

You should be confident working with young people who may present challenging behaviour or have experienced significant barriers to education.

Qualifications

Ideally, you will hold:

• A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, QTLS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent

We may also consider candidates with strong vocational or industry experience alongside an appropriate teaching or training qualification.
