Job summary

TimePlan Education is recruiting for a dedicated Full-Time Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Northampton. You will support pupils with a range of complex needs, helping them communicate, develop life skills and participate in class activities.

We value caring, patient, adaptable candidates with strong teamwork and safeguarding commitment. Previous SEND experience is desirable but not essential, with training provided.

Full-Time Teaching Assistant

Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire (NN3)

Position: Full-Time Teaching Assistant

Setting: Specialist SEND School

TimePlan Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Northampton on a full-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs and wants to make a genuine difference every day.

About the Role

You will be working alongside experienced teachers and support staff to provide personalised support to pupils with a range of complex needs, including autism, severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, speech and language needs, sensory needs and physical disabilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils with their learning and development
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support
• Encouraging communication, confidence and independence
• Supporting pupils to engage with classroom activities
• Helping pupils develop essential life and social skills
• Using a range of communication strategies and resources
• Supporting personal care where required
• Creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
• Working closely with teachers and the wider support team
• Celebrating and encouraging every pupil's individual progress
