Job summary

Class Act is hiring a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 2–19 with diverse needs in a nurturing setting. You'll assist teachers with tailored activities and help students access the curriculum, promoting academic, social, and emotional growth.

Own responsibilities include safeguarding, collaboration with staff and parents, and building positive relationships in a supportive environment. Immediate start available, with long-term or permanent opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND.
• Team Teach training is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong safeguarding understanding.
• Patient, resilient and caring approach.

SEND Teaching Assistant

Full-Time or Part-Time Long-Term or Permanent Opportunity Immediate Start Available

This is a specialist provision supporting pupils aged 2–19 years with a range of additional learning needs. The setting provides a nurturing, inclusive, and structured learning environment where pupils are encouraged to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Support pupils with SEND on a one-to-one and small-group basis
• Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning activities
• Help pupils access the curriculum and achieve individual learning goals
• Support communication, social interaction, and emotional wellbeing
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning
• Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and parents where required
• Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Previous experience supporting pupils with ASD, MLD, or PMLD
• Experience working within a special school or SEND environment is desirable
• Team Teach training is highly advantageous
• Patient, resilient, and caring approach
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Strong understanding of safeguarding practices
• Commitment to supporting children and young people with additional needs

Locations:

North London, East London, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire, Cornwall, Devon and Greater Manchester.
