Job summary

TimePlan Education is recruiting for a dedicated Full-Time Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Northampton. You will support pupils with a range of complex needs, helping them communicate, develop life skills and participate in class activities.

We value caring, patient, adaptable candidates with strong teamwork and safeguarding commitment. Previous SEND experience is desirable but not essential, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in SEND desirable but not essential.
• Willingness to learn and develop SEND knowledge.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised support to pupils with complex needs.
• Offer one-to-one and small-group support.
• Encourage communication, confidence and independence.
• Support pupils to engage with classroom activities.
• Help pupils develop life and social skills.
• Use a range of communication strategies and resources.
• Support personal care where required.
• Create a safe, positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Work closely with teachers and the wider support team.
• Celebrate each pupil's individual progress.
