Job summary

Key Stage Teacher Supply is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Penwortham, supporting a pupil with additional needs on a 15-hour-per-week placement for September.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, aiding learning, communication and personal development, with safeguarding and DBS requirements. Training provided and ongoing CPD opportunities through our network.

Qualifications

  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in an SEN setting.
  • Experience supporting pupils with a range of needs (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD).
  • Strong communication, patience and resilience.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Proactive and adaptable approach.
  • Willingness to support personal care if required (training provided).
  • Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupil on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Assist with learning activities and personal development.
  • Support pupil with communication, behaviour and engagement.
  • Help create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCO and support staff.
  • Adapt support strategies to meet individual needs.

SEN Teaching Assistant

A headteacher is seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Penwortham, supporting a pupil with additional needs. This is a part-time position 15 hours a week for the month of September the role is working with a pupil who requires additional support with learning, communication and personal development.

SEN Teaching Assistant role requirements
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or within an SEN setting
  • Experience supporting pupils with a range of additional needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD)
