Job summary

Teach in Liverpool is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs across mainstream and specialist settings. You will work one-to-one or in small groups, helping students reach their personal learning goals within a nurturing environment.

You’ll collaborate with teachers, implement tailored activities, promote positive behaviour and safeguarding compliance, and contribute to inclusive classrooms.

Responsibilities

SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next role in education?

Teach is recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs across a range of mainstream schools and specialist settings.

We have a variety of opportunities available, including day-to-day supply, short-term, long-term and permanent roles. Whether you're looking for flexibility or a more consistent placement, we'll work with you to find a position that suits your skills, experience and availability.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
• Typical school hours: 8:15am - 3:30pm (hours may vary depending on the school)

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
• Assisting children with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties
• Encouraging pupils to engage with learning and achieve their individual goals
• Working alongside teachers to deliver tailored learning activities
• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Supporting pupils in line with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), where appropriate
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
• Following all school safeguarding and behaviour policies

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND in a school, care or similar setting

Desirable but not essential

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs
• Knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies
