Job summary

Remedy Education in Chelmsford is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our well-resourced school from September. The role covers both primary and secondary classes, with 1:1 and small group support.

The successful candidate will assist with communication, emotional regulation and engagement, follow EHCP targets, and work closely with teachers and SENCOs to deliver personalised learning in a calm, nurturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach.
  • Comfortable working across both primary and secondary age groups.
  • Confident supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils.
  • Willing to support personal care where needed.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes.
  • Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
  • Following EHCP targets and individual support plans.
  • Assisting with personal care where required.
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.

Are you a patient, caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant looking to start a new role as soon as possible where you can genuinely make a difference?

We are working with a well-resourced and highly supportive SEN school in Chelmsford that caters for both primary and secondary-aged pupils. They are looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist provision as soon as possible.

The Role

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)Both experienced SEN Teaching Assistants and strong mainstream TAs looking to move into a specialist setting are encouraged to apply.
