Job summary

Remedy Education is sourcing an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant for a well-resourced school in Chelmsford. The role involves 1:1 and small group support across both primary and secondary classes, with a focus on communication, emotional regulation and tailored learning plans.

The ideal candidate has SEN experience, a calm, patient approach, and is comfortable supporting pupils with non-verbal communication. DBS Update Service (or willingness to obtain) is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD or complex needs.
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach.
  • Comfortable working across primary and secondary age groups.
  • Confident supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils.
  • Willing to support personal care where needed.
  • Strong team player with a proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes.
  • Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
  • Following EHCP targets and individual support plans.
  • Assisting with personal care where required.
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
  • Helping maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.

Are you a patient, caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant looking to start a new role as soon as possible where you can genuinely make a difference?

We are working with a well-resourced and highly supportive SEN school in Chelsmford that caters for both primary and secondary-aged pupils. They are looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist provision as soon as possible.

The Role
