Job summary

Remedy Education is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across both primary and secondary classes in Chelmsford. The role is full-time and long-term with an ASAP start, offering ongoing support from a dedicated consultant.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children with SEN, ASD or ADHD, a calm and resilient manner, and the ability to work well in a team while supporting pupils with limited communication. Personal care may be required.

  • Calm, patient and resilient approach.
  • Strong team player with a proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes.
  • Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
  • Following EHCP targets and individual support plans.
  • Assisting with personal care where required.
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
  • Helping maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.

The Role

  • Strong team player with a proactive attitude
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Both experienced SEN Teaching Assistants and strong mainstream TAs looking to move into a specialist setting are encouraged to apply.
