Job summary

Westleigh St Paul's CE Primary School in Leigh is seeking a motivated Teaching Assistant to join our supportive primary school family. You will work with class teachers to support children's learning, development and wellbeing inside and outside the classroom.

The role involves assisting lessons, supporting pupils with SEND, promoting inclusive behaviour and helping create a safe, stimulating learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school or similar setting.
• Patient, positive and supportive.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Adaptable to meet the needs of different learners.
• Experience with SEND.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare.
• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support the learning and development of pupils across the primary age range
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and support SEND needs
• Assist the teacher in preparing and delivering engaging lessons
• Promote positive behaviour and inclusive practice
• Support pupils' social and emotional wellbeing

35 hours per week, term time, working 38 weeks per year

Temporary until 31st August 2027

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated, caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our supportive primary school family. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a vibrant setting supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing.

You will work closely with class teachers to provide high-quality support both in and out of the classroom, helping pupils to achieve their full potential.

• Have experience working with children in a school or similar setting
• Be patient, positive and supportive

• Be adaptable and able to meet the needs of different learners
• Have experience working with children with SEND
• Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare
• Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant)
