Job summary

Crosshill School in Darwen is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant Level 2 to support pupils with SEND. The role is a permanent, full-time position at 32.5 hours per week, SCP3–5 with an actual salary of £19,352 to £19,967.

You will work closely with teachers to deliver learning activities, assist with EHCPs and personal care where required, monitor progress and help create an inclusive classroom. Closing date 6 October 2026; start from 2 November 2026.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable but not essential.

Inspire, support and empower young people to achieve their full potential. We are looking for a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team and provide high-quality support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will help create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils individually and in groups to access learning and participate fully in school life.
  • Assist with the implementation of EHCPs, behaviour plans and personal care programmes where required.
  • Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
  • Support the delivery of learning activities and adapt tasks to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.

  • Support pupils during breaktimes, educational visits and school activities.
