Job summary

St Aidan's Catholic Primary School in Wigan is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support children with SEND in small groups or 1:1, following individual Care Plans and working with staff, parents and external agencies to meet each child’s needs.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with high expectations for pupil achievement, be a team player, adapt to new ideas, and fully support the school's ethos.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in small groups or 1:1.
• Ability to follow individual Care Plans as directed.
• Excellent communication with parents and staff.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.

Salary: Grade 3, £17,917 per annum. £13.70 per hour

30 hours per week, term time, working 38 weeks per year

Temporary until 31st August 2027

We wish to appoint a teaching assistant who is passionate about children's learning and committed to meeting the needs of all children. Are you the person we are looking for?

Working pattern:8.45am 3.15pm, Monday to Friday.

You will need to:

• support the needs of children with SEND on a small group or 1:1 basis.
• work closely with staff, parents and outside agencies.
• be able to cater for the individual needs of the children and to use initiative based upon situations as they arise.
• follow individual Care Plans as directed.
• provide detailed feedback to the SENDCo, teacher and parents.
• create supportive and trusting relationships with parents with an honest and open approach.
• work with and learn alongside other professionals.

We seek candidates who can capture the imagination and interest of young learners and develop their skills and knowledge.

The successful candidate would:

• have experience of dealing with students on a 1:1 or small group basis.
