Job summary

Pike Fold Community Primary School is seeking a fixed-term, full-time Teaching Assistant to support learning and pupil management. Start date: 1st December 2026. The role requires Maths and English GCSE or equivalent, plus dedication to safeguarding and inclusive education.

You will work 35 hours per week in a collaborative school environment, assisting teachers and contributing to a positive learning atmosphere for pupils.

  • Contribute to the safeguarding and welfare of pupils and support the classroom team.

Salary: £22,000 per annum

To support access to learning and provide general support for the school in the management of pupils and resources, as directed by senior staff.

For this job we are looking for:
  • Experience of working with or caring for children of a relevant age
  • Numeracy/literacy skills (at a level equivalent to NQF Level 2)
  • Completion of the Teaching Assistant Induction Programm
  • Ability to relate well to children and adult
  • Ability to work as part of a tea
  • An understanding of the role of the Teaching Assistant and other professionals working in the classroom
  • Ability to use relevant technology eg photocopier
  • Understanding of national/foundation stage curriculum and other basic learning programmes/strategies
  • Basic understanding of child development and learning
  • Willingness to undertake minor first aid training as appropriate
